4 Months and growing strong

Elizabeth had her 4 month appointment and she is doing great. Her stats are:
Weight - 14lbs 7oz 75% percentile
Height - 25.5 inches 95% percentile
Head - 41.3 75% percentile

She is 9 inches shorter than Victoria and 10lbs lighter. She is really tall and already wearing 9 month shirts for the length. She has been wearing them for about a month now.
She had to get 2 shots and she did great. When she got her first shot she did not cry and then she just whined for a minute with the second shot. She did well the rest of the day and was just a little crabby at night. She turns herself around in her exersaucer and brings all the toys to her mouth. On day I had her in her play pen sleeping in the corner and when I looked at her she had moved to the other corner and was playing with her toys (she was on her belly). She loves to sleep on her belly. She goes to bed at about 8pm and wakes up around 4am for a feeding. Then she is up at 5am and 6am for feedings and then wakes up at about 8am. She is eating rice cereal every night now and LOVES it. She grabs the spoon and shoves it in her mouth. She LOVES to suck her thumb. If she is not nursing she has her thumb in her mouth. She loves to be read to and tries to eat the book and Victoria will tell her don't eat the book sissy. She laughs so cute and I tried to get it on video for you to see. Just excuse the closeness that I get with the camera as it is hard to make her laugh and tape at the same time. Just today she reached for me while her Mamaw was holding her. She LOVES to talk and smile. All you have to do it look at her and she smiles her biggest smile and starts to talk to you.

What a difference

As I was developing pictures I came across these and was just amazed at the difference in my girls. Victoria was 4 months old and Elizabeth was 1 month old.

Victoria's 1st ER visit

So, last night she was in bed and then got out. I had Elizabeth in my arms and got Victoria back into bed. She likes to plop down on her pillow but instead of the pillow she hit her head on the bed frame. When she came up I instanly saw the laceration and knew it needed stitches. I put Elizabeth on the bed and grabbed Victoria and yelled for Louis. After what seemed liked forever of me calming down. We got in the car to go to the ER. We got into the room and Victoria fell asleep on me. The Dr came in and said that she will need stitches and they would give her a sedative to make her drowsy. They 1st put some numbing cream on it and then shot the sedative up her nose. Then they wrapped her arms behind her back and wrapped a sheet around her body so she could not move. I was at her feet talking to her. The nurse was holding her head and the Dr was shooting more numbing medicine into the laceration. Everytime Victoria would see the needle she would freak out. I called my mom to come and sit with Elizabeth at the hospital because I knew that we needed to be with Victoria. She had to have 2 internal stitches and 6 to close it. It was the worst thing I have ever had to go through in my life. I got her to her 2nd birthday without ever being sick and was hoping to never have an ER visit. Me and the girls finally went to bed around 1:30am. I had to clean it out today and put neosporin on it and she did pretty well. It is right in her eyebrow and we are hoping that there will not be any scaring. She goes to Dr.Lam this Friday to have the stitches removed if it is healed enough. They gave her a teddy bear with a band-aid on it's left eye. She is finally taking a nap. She is doing pretty good for what she has been through.

Victoria's 2 year check-up

I had been talking to Victoria about her appointment coming up. I was getting her ready for the shot and the day of her appointment she said that she cannot get a shot. Once we got there she was OK but still saying that she cannot get a shot. We got into the room and was looking at all the sea animals on the wall. Dr.Lam came in and she told him that she does not wear diapers anymore and counted to ten for him. He was in awe of what she knew and how advanced she is. He said that she is a year ahead in her development. I felt pretty pround at the moment as a mother. He said that she looks and sounds great. Once he left I told her that nurse Sheri had to come in and then we could go. We got her ready for her shot. Papa was sitting next her on the table and then she let out a scream and then it was over. I told her that she gets to have a sucker and she was OK. She picked out a Mango sucker and a Lion sticker. When we were in the car she kept telling me that nurse Sheri hurt her. I told her I was sorry that she hurt her but she had to get a shot so she would not get sick. It was really cute.

Weight : 24lbs - 25th percentile
Height: 34.5 inches - 75th percentile
Head: 48.8 - 95th percentile (her big brain)

Kris, my friend, said the measure her at 2, times it by 2 and then add 2 more inches and that would be her projected height. So, she will be about 5'11''. We will have to see if it is right or not.

She started dance class on Monday. She liked it and did really well. There was a little girl in the class that was not paying attention and playing around and Victoria thought that she would follow her. We have been practicing her dance moves that she learned and she does really well. She goes to dance every Monday night. I am so excited to have her in dance and she looks so cute in her outift. I will get a picture on her soon.

Family fun

We invited the Campbell's out for some sledding and then back to our house for Hot Cocoa and S'Mores. We bought a fire pit for our backyard. Victoria and Gracie went down the hill together and by their selves. Brett and Spencer had snow boards and Brett went down the hill without falling. Kari was hearing heel boots and went down on the snow board and did very well after a few practice runs. I went down and fell because I went down a stepper slope than I should have at first. The second run I did go down without falling. Then we went to have hot cocoa and had s'mores. It was a lot of fun, cold but fun. Victoria was eating all the chocolate that she could find and Hercules was eating whatever he could find. Gracie wanted to just hold the roasting stick with the marshmallow on it until it was completely burned.

We took Victoria bowling and Elizabeth came too. It was so much fun watching her bowl. She was beating me for awhile but then I came back. Louis bowled a good game. We both would take turns helping her bowl. When it was our turn to bowl she would cheer us on, jump up and down and clap. She was the cutest thing ever. She had a pink ball and when we left she kept asking about her ball. We told her it had to stay there but we would come back. She said she wanted to go back then. She would step over the line and the buzzer would go off and she would ask what is that mama. She was just a lot of fun to take bowling. We all cannot wait to do it again.

I got her a playdough set on the after Thanksgiving sales and she loves to play with it. She loves to make spaghetti and animal cut outs. She just really loves to play with her hands. When we make her an animal cut out she says that she loves it. Elizabeth laid around while we played with playdough.

Elizabeth's first food

I decided that it was time to let Elizabeth try some rice cereal. She did really well at eating it. She hardly spit any out and kept it all in her mouth. She would open her mouth wide when she wanted more. Victoria of course wanted to help, the little mother that she is. I fed it to her a few other times and she has really liked it. I was hoping it would make her sleep throught the night but it did not.

Victoria's 2nd Birthday

We began the festivites on the eve of her birthday as her Papa was sick and was not going to be able to attend her party. She was able to open 2 of her gifts from us and Mamaw let her open two gifts as well. From Mama and Papa she opened a pink drum, harmonica, maracas, tamborine and a Barbie Doctor. Her Mamaw gave her a washing machine for her Rose Petal Cottage and a birthday cake set.

The morning of her birthday, January 2nd, I woke her up singing Happy Birthday to her and asked her if she was excited and she was. We went to pick up her Elephant cupcake cake at Macey's. We were to be at Build-A-Bear Workshop at 11am for her party. Mamaw, Gracie, Spencer, Brett, Aunt Kari, Nana Ann, Megan and of course mama were all there. She first picked out a Dinosaur to build but when, Brandon, our party leader put in the roar sound she wanted nothing to do with it. She picked out an Elephant instead and also did not want the trumpeting sound in it. I did record something and she was OK with that sound in there. Brandon was a lot of fun with the kids. While he was stuffing the animals he would have the other kids pass around a kitty like a hot potato and whoever had it when he was done had to do something silly. Spencer had to wear ribbons in his hair, pretend he was a tea pot and say I'm a pretty tea pot. I had to act like a gorilla and say I'm the party mom. It was a lot of fun. Brandon helped Victoria pick out her Elephants dress. After Build-A-Bear we went to McDonald's to eat lunch, have cake and open presents. Mama and Papa got her a pink keyboard, Mamaw got her a kitchen utensil set and a bake oven, Campbell family got her a look and find book, braclet, necklace and goal chart and her friend Megan got her a Bear book. She had a lot of fun with her friends and they had a lot of fun. She takes her Elephant, which her name is Elli, everywhere we go. She sleeps with her every night. I told her that we are going to get her some pajamas and more clothes. But for now she is wearing a pair of the girl's pajamas. I took some pictures but I was mostly taking video.

Happy 2nd Birthday Victoria!!!
